Sex hormone imbalances can occur in women and men

Sex hormone imbalances can occur at any age and stage in life. They can occur in men and women. Estrogen, progesterone and testosterone are present in men and women.

Testosterone decline is also common in women, often starting in the late 30s. Most of us think of testosterone as only being important in men. However, it is important in women too. It helps with libido, sexual function, being able to build muscle in response to exercise, mood and bone health. We offer testosterone pellets therapy along with other options for testosterone repletion.

Men can experience a decline in testosterone levels associated with low testosterone such as lack of motivation, difficulty building muscle, depression and sexual issues. This condition is called Low T or Andropause.

Sex hormone imbalances can be improved with troches, creams, pills and pellets or injections. We individualize our programs and customize them to your needs.

We have found that many of our female patients do well with testosterone pellets. There often is no need to prescribe estrogen because the testosterone in the pellets can be converted to estrogen by your own body.

Our male patients do well with testosterone injections, creams and an oral medication that blocks testosterone from being converted to estrogen.

Including hormone balancing with our Intimate Wellness and Body compositions programs enhances the results.

Thyroid hormone- one of the foundational hormones

Thyroid hormone imbalances can occur at any age and stage in life and can affect both men and women. The thyroid gland plays a critical role in regulating metabolism, energy production, body temperature, mood, cognitive function and weight management.

When thyroid hormones become imbalanced, patients may experience symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, brain fog, depression, hair thinning, dry skin, constipation, low motivation and difficulty tolerating cold temperatures. Some patients may also experience anxiety, palpitations, trouble sleeping or unexplained weight loss depending on the type of thyroid imbalance present.

Many patients suffer from symptoms of low thyroid function, also known as hypothyroidism, even when routine lab testing appears “normal.” Comprehensive thyroid evaluation can help identify underlying thyroid dysfunction and guide a more personalized treatment approach.

Thyroid hormone imbalances can often be improved with lifestyle optimization, nutritional support and thyroid hormone replacement therapy when appropriate. Treatment options may include T4 medications, combination T4/T3 therapy or customized treatment plans based on your individual needs and laboratory results.
We individualize our programs and customize treatment plans to help optimize energy, metabolism, mental clarity, mood and overall wellness.

Including thyroid optimization alongside our hormone balancing, Intimate Wellness and Body Composition programs can enhance results and support long-term health and vitality.

Adrenal Hormones-Its a matter of balance

Adrenal hormone imbalances can occur at any age and stage in life. The adrenal glands play an important role in energy, stress response, metabolism, immune function, sleep, mood and overall vitality. When adrenal hormones become imbalanced, patients may experience fatigue, difficulty handling stress, poor sleep, weight gain, brain fog, low motivation and decreased resilience.

Cortisol is one of the primary adrenal hormones. Healthy cortisol levels help support energy throughout the day, mental clarity, balanced blood sugar and recovery from physical and emotional stress. However, chronic stress, poor sleep, illness, overtraining and aging can contribute to cortisol dysregulation.

Many patients experience symptoms associated with adrenal dysfunction such as waking up tired, afternoon energy crashes, increased cravings, anxiety, feeling “wired but tired,” difficulty recovering from exercise and trouble sleeping through the night.

DHEA is another important adrenal hormone that supports mood, immune health, libido, muscle maintenance and healthy aging in both men and women. DHEA levels naturally decline with age and may contribute to fatigue, low mood and decreased vitality.

Adrenal hormone imbalances can often be improved with lifestyle optimization, stress management, targeted supplementation and hormone support when appropriate. We individualize our programs and customize treatment plans based on your symptoms, health history and laboratory testing.

Supporting adrenal health alongside our hormone balancing, Intimate Wellness and Body Composition programs can help improve energy, recovery, sleep quality, mood and overall well-being.
